In my humble opinion the very best Irish chef/ cook whatever you want to call her. Cookbooks can be very expensive and it's not always easy to justify paying the price especially when there is always something else needed. Rachel Allen is a professional chef and a mother. Her recipes are always very clear and easy to follow,always ending up with the desired result. She makes it so easy that even I can manage. Just try her recipe for Potato and Leek Soup. Originally from Dublin, Rachel lives in Cork with her husband andtwo children. Here she teaches at Darina Allen's ( her mother-in-law ) world-renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School,Shanagary,Co.Cork. Her husband owns two very sucessful restaurants in Cork.So to say she is steeped in cooking could be an understatement.
