Irish Dessert Recipes Are Divine Dessert Recipes

BRAMLEY AND BLACK BUSH TART

This Irish Dessert Recipe recipe makes 4 delicious tartlets. Scale it up or down to suit.

Ingredients

250g (8 oz) shortcrust pastry

50g (2 oz) ground almonds

4 large Bramley apples, peeled and diced

2 tablespoons of granulated sugar

250ml 1/2 pint of cream

3 egg yolks

50g (2 oz) caster sugar

Generous dash of Black Bush whiskey or your personal favourite.

Method

Set the oven to Gas Mark 6 or 200°C (400°F).

Line four individual tart tins with the pastry.

Sprinkle some ground almonds on the base of each one.

Now add the apple and enough sugar to sweeten to your own taste.

Heat the cream.

Beat the egg yolks and sugar together.

Stir in the cream and a dash of whiskey.

Spoon a little of the cream mixture into each tart.

Keep remaining cream.

Bake tarts for 25-35 minutes.

Pour the remaining cream into a bowl.

Place over simmering water.

Stirring constantly, continue to cook until the custard thickens.

Set the custard aside and keep warm.

Dust the tarts with the icing sugar and serve with the warm custard.

You could also use ice-cream,mixed berries etc.



Irish Dessert Recipes,Irish Marmalade Dessert Recipes

OLDE IRISH MARMALADE PUDDING

INGREDIENTS.

NORMALLY YOU WILL GET 4 GOOD SERVINGS FROM THIS BUT YOU COULD ALSO GET 6 TO 8 USING SLICES OF FRUIT ON THE SIDE.

4oz self raising flour

pinch of salt

1tsp of ground ginger

4oz of suet shredded (keep in fridge until ready to shred)

4oz of white breadcrumbs

3oz dark brown sugar

6oz marmalade

To Serve

4 tblsp marmalade

2 tbsp milk

quarter pint of cream (lightly whipped)

orange slices

Grease a 1 and a half pint pudding bowl.

Sift the flour, salt and ginger into a large bowl.

Add the shredded suet, breadcrumbs and sugar, mix thouroughly.

Add the marmalade and milk mixing to form a wet dough-like mixture.

Pour into the pudding basin should be about three quarters full.Cover with a double layer of greaseproof pager and tie with a string.

Steam the pudding for 2 and a half hours in a large pan with a tight fitting lid.

Remember to check the water level half way through steaming.

Remove pudding from saucepan and remove paper. Gently tap the side of bowl to loosen pudding. Turn on to a warm plate.

to serve.

warm the marmalade in a small pan with 2 tbsp of water.

Slive pudding pour over some marmalade along with whipped cream and orange slices around side of plate.
